According to TCE: As for KashFlow itself, the email makes mention that the company usually charges £15.99 + VAT a month for its service but that Barclaycard is “waiving” the charge for pilot merchants. It’s likely that in turn KashFlow is doing the same. The accompanying FAQs also makes clear that the startup will be responsible for all customer support relating to the e-invoicing service, aside from transactions. Kashflow and Absolute Accounting have partnered in a move that sees Absolute integrate Kashflow data into its accounts preparation package. This is a first step towards iXBRL filing and provides a semi-automated way for Kashflow data to be pulled into a third party system. “It’s really a couple of clicks to produce accounts,”...
A KashFlow update
A KashFlow update
Last Monday I visited KashFlow ’s offices in central London to film an interview with CEO Duane Jasckson. Duane was both generous with his time and prepared to be frank about what the company is doing, where it is heading and the kinds of thing it has in store. Off camera, he showed me the practitioners’ dashboard. This is a seriously...

Kashflow tinkers with the user interface: an exclusive peek
I’ve known for some time that Kashflow is refactoring its user interface. Both Duane Jackson, CEO Kashflow and I agree that in its current iteration it is out of date and by making changes, he hopes this will encourage more people to come on board. User interfaces are always the subject of much angst among developers and can easily upset...

Kashflow’s brave post
I give Duane Jackson oodles of credit for his latest post: Reviewing from the wrong perspective . It’s a brave vendor that publishes negative stuff being said about its service: It was interesting to seen an old chestnut come up in the form of this email from an accountant. Not impressed at all! Having been in practice over 20 years I can...

Lessons and inferences from Kashflow’s 2009 results
Duane Jackson pinged me about a post where he explains what happened with the Kashflow in 2009 . It is an illuminating read at many levels and is important as much for what it doesn’t say as what it reveals. It also provides early indications of the type of issue SaaS companies face as they scale. It should be said that he didn’t have...

SaaS switching – should we care?
FinancialForce.com ($$ client) today announced that it has bagged a NetSuite customer. Nice for them. The reasons given in the press release were sensible enough: “We were previously using NetSuite but found that we struggled to reliably maintain all our integrations to marketplaces,” said Ben VanderBeek, Executive Director of IT, myGearStore....

Kashflow, Xero, Zappos, Zoho : nuances and ethics
Earlier today I read an extract from Tony Hsieh, co-founder Zappos upcoming book on why they built something before taking venture funding, what happened when they did take money and what forced them into the arms of Amazon. It’s instructive for the different perspectives you see on why entrepreneurs do what they do and what happens when...

Sage Developers: we suck…official.
According to the Sage Developers’ blog : Our recommended approach for deployment of new or customised Workspaces to a customer site is to create an Add-On (SDBX) package for it. This approach makes deployment quite straight-foward. Eating our own dog-food has, however, shown that using the tool to create these packages is anything but straight-forward....
